I mean, c’mon! Do I live in Florida? NO. It feels like it … We’ve had weird sudden rainstorms, crazy sporadic thunder and lightning and blistering heat over the last week. I spent the weekend at a one year olds party in the park at a sweltering 98 degrees and then visitng a newborn in an even more sweltering (if that’s possible) 109 DEGREES! Insanity! Luckily, for the 109, I was inside with A/C to keep me from melting. This heat wave got me thinking about summer essentials and how to keep your skin protected and looking good, but without feeling like your face is going to melt and slide down your chin. These are some of my absolute must-haves for summer beauty.
Neautrogena UltraSheer 85 Sunscreen – No wrinkles or sun spots ladies! If you are spending your day outside or at the beach this is a MUST!
Sonia Kashuk Concealer Stick – This is a great creamy, but dry concealer so it will cover blemishes and under eye cirlcles without melting in the heat.
bareMinerals spf30 Natural Sunscreen – L-O-V-E this!!! It is a tinted powder so you can use it in place of foundation or face powder and it will give you both coverage and protection without feeling heavy on your skin. This is perfect for everyday use and can be used without the spf 85 lotion for a regular day.
NARS Orgasm Illuminator – This is my biggest and most highly recommended absolute essentially. Do you get how serious I am about this? Seriously. This gel/lotion gives you that dewy skinned, sunkist color on your cheeks! It’s a perfect peachy pink shade with just a subtle touch of shimmer, I can’t live without it.
Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara – I’ve tried fancy expensive mascaras, but I still always come back to Maybelline’s tried and true Great Lash. It’s the best and it’s only a few bucks. Keep with waterproof for days as the beach (or late nights at the bars, we all know those can lead to unintended tears for any number of reasons! HA!).
Softlips Tints – These are perfect for protecting your lips with spf 15 plus a hint of shimmer and color. Gives you a great natural summer look, but with protection and color.
Coppertone Dry Oil Continuous Spray Sunscreen – This is THE BEST sunscreen. Because it’s dry oil, it doesn’t leave you all sticky like lotions or feeling like an oiled up hot dog left to roast in the sun. The continuous spray bottle makes it easy to apply and the dry oil leaves your skin looking moist and shiny in the sun.
Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Cream Lotion – This is the creamiest, yummiest smelling lotion and it’s perfect for soiturizing your skin after it’s been dried out by seawater and sand. It’s mango scent definitely makes you feel like you’re on vacation.
