I threw myself a little fiesta this weekend in honor of my big 30th birthday – my friend Meaghan suggested I call it my “double quinceañera” and I think the title is perfectly fitting. If you don’t know what a quinceañera is … google it and then employ your first grade math skills (15 x 2 = 30).
I had 30 or so friends and family over for a backyard fiesta with an incredible taco man, plenty of Mexican-inspired beverages and a delicious cake I’ve been eating a slice of for dessert each night … and breakfast each morning. YUM. You know me, I had to get OCD with the décor – everything had to be thematic and match.
Including my hand-made piñata, which I slaved over every night for over a week …

And my dress, the to-die-for Chatterbox maxi dress by Tibi … rented from Rent the Runway
A table full of delicious goodies and thirst quenchers…

There was a crazy amazing taco guy from local Hermosa Beach favorite, El Gringo, courtesy of my man … but I didn’t take any pictures of that, oops!
And, I SERIOUSLY made out in the gift category with a new Nikon J1 from my parents and girlfriends!
… and an Hermés Double Tour watch from my sister and my brother-in-law!
I mean, the Hermés box is orange, which was one of my colors so it just made sense, right? IT’s crazy, unbelievable … I still look at my wrist and can’t believe it’s mine. All mine! I have been playing with my camera every night trying to learn all it’s mysterious ways and I have put my watch on first thing when I wake up, only to have to take it off so I can wash my face!
It was a fantastic party with so many lovely friends and was beautiful. A fantastic way to celebrate the beginning of a new decade
